Based at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania's only Level 6 medical imaging service, you will support patients and their families through diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. As the State's major clinical teaching and research hospital, the Royal Hobart Hospital collaborates closely with the University of Tasmania and other leading institutions to advance healthcare outcomes for the Tasmanian community.

The Role The registered nurse in the Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) will work across both diagnostic and interventional procedures in Computed Tomography (CT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and Angiography for both inpatients and outpatients.
The registered nurse strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients-clients, their families and other health professionals. What you'll do In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse in Medical Imaging is responsible for providing care to patients undergoing medical imaging procedures across multiple modalities




Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive approach. Provide 24-7 on-call support for emergency interventional procedures. You will need Knowledge of and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient care in diagnostic and interventional procedures in line with legal and local policy requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Awareness of the radiation safety standards and the ability to wear a lead apron. Note:

Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement ****. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
