Job Description
Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Web Administrator to join our team and take ownership of our web presence, infrastructure, and digital platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining websites while delivering reliable web technology solutions that support the organisation's objectives.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our web environments are secure, performant, and continuously optimised. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications, ensuring consistent functionality, visual integrity, and a positive user experience across all platforms
Monitor and manage web server performance, uptime, and availability, responding promptly to incidents and implementing preventative measures to minimise disruption
Administer and configure web hosting environments, domains, DNS settings, and SSL certificates to ensure secure and reliable operation
Collaborate with content, marketing, and development teams to publish, update, and manage web content in accordance with brand guidelines and accessibility standards
Implement and maintain web security protocols, including regular vulnerability assessments, software patching, and user access controls to safeguard digital assets
Analyse web traffic data and performance metrics using analytics tools, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve engagement and site effectiveness
Manage and maintain content management systems (CMS), including configuration, plugin or module updates, and user permission management
Develop and enforce web standards, coding best practices,
and documentation to ensure consistency and maintainability across all web properties
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to websites, web applications, and integrations in a timely and effective manner
Support the planning and execution of website migrations, upgrades, and redesign projects, coordinating with internal stakeholders and third‐party vendors as required
Conduct regular audits of website content, links, and functionality to identify and rectify errors, broken pages, or outdated information
Provide technical guidance and support to internal users on web-related tools, platforms, and best practices
Required Qualifications & Skills
A bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
Proven experience in a web administration, web development, or similar technical role
Proficiency in core web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Hands‐on experience administering web servers such as Apache or Nginx, and working within Linux or Windows server environments
Solid understanding of DNS management, domain administration, SSL/TLS certificates, and web hosting infrastructure
Experience managing content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar platforms
Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar, with the ability to interpret data and report findings clearly
Working knowledge of web security best practices,
including vulnerability management and access control
Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant industry certifications such as Google Analytics, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or CompTIA Security+
Experience with version control systems such as Git and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or deployment workflows
Knowledge of PHP, Python, or other server‐side scripting languages
Experience with SEO best practices and web accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1
Exposure to cloud‐based hosting platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
Experience working within agile or collaborative project delivery environments
Familiarity with web performance optimisation techniques, including caching strategies and content delivery networks (CDNs)
