We are currently seeking a
Warehouse & Logistics Assistant Manager
to support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of our Banyo facility.
This hands-on leadership role will assist with coordinating warehouse activities, inventory control, picking and packing, vehicle movements, team performance, workplace safety, and the efficient delivery and collection of furniture across our projects.
The successful candidate will lead by example, work closely with warehouse and logistics team members, and help ensure that daily operational targets, quality standards, and customer commitments are consistently achieved.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, confident managing people, and capable of monitoring multiple operational priorities at the same time. They will also be comfortable providing direction, holding team members accountable, and stepping into the Warehouse & Logistics Manager's responsibilities when required.
Objectives of the Role
Support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager in ensuring the warehouse and logistics department operates safely, efficiently, and in line with company expectations.
Help coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the warehouse and logistics teams, ensuring projects are prepared, dispatched, installed, and collected on schedule.
Lead, motivate, train, and support warehouse and logistics team members to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring furniture and styling products are correctly received, stored, located, picked, packed, transferred, and returned.
Support the implementation and enforcement of warehouse procedures, inventory controls, vehicle processes, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Monitor team productivity, work quality, attendance, presentation, communication, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Identify operational issues and work with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager to implement practical solutions and continuous improvements.
Help maintain a safe, clean, organised, and professional warehouse environment.
Maintain accurate documentation and records relating to warehouse activities, inventory, vehicles, equipment, safety, incidents, and team performance.
Act as the operational leader of the department when the Warehouse & Logistics Manager is unavailable.




Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Assist in leading the daily operations of the warehouse and logistics department, including morning preparation, picking, packing, loading, dispatch, deliveries, installations, collections, returns, stock placement, and end-of-day warehouse resets.
Conduct daily team briefings and ensure team members understand their responsibilities, schedules, priorities, routes, projects, and performance expectations.
Allocate work to warehouse and logistics team members based on operational requirements, skills, workload, and project deadlines.
Monitor the flow and quality of work throughout the day to ensure productivity targets, customer service standards, and project deadlines are achieved.
Support the preparation of furniture and styling inventory for upcoming property installations, ensuring all required items are picked accurately, checked for quality, and ready for dispatch.
Assist with coordinating vehicle routes, truck allocations, driver responsibilities, and daily logistics schedules.
Communicate with drivers, warehouse team members, project managers, stylists, and other departments to resolve operational issues and prevent delays.
Inspect vehicles, equipment, tools, and machinery regularly and report maintenance, safety, damage, or compliance concerns to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
Monitor inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts, stocktakes, inventory investigations, damaged-item reporting, missing-item investigations, and product-location corrections.
Ensure returned furniture is correctly unloaded, checked, cleaned, repaired where required, and returned to its correct warehouse location.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organisation, accessways, storage areas, loading zones, and workspaces.
Support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager with workforce planning, scheduling, attendance management, performance management, training, and team development.
Provide team members with clear, timely, and constructive verbal and written feedback when performance or behaviour does not meet expectations.
Assist with onboarding and training new warehouse and logistics team members.
Monitor compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, manual-handling procedures, vehicle rules, company policies, and operational processes.
Report incidents, injuries, vehicle damage, inventory damage, safety concerns, delays, and performance issues promptly and accurately.
Participate in regular operational meetings and contribute recommendations to improve productivity,



inventory accuracy, quality, safety, labour efficiency, and customer service.
Help monitor departmental KPIs and prepare updates for the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
A minimum of two years' experience in a warehouse, logistics, distribution, removals, delivery, furniture, retail, or similar operational environment.
Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Team Leader, Leading Hand, Assistant Manager, or similar leadership role.
Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
Experience supporting the management of warehouse and logistics teams, including drivers, warehouse employees, casual employees, and operational support team members.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, picking and packing, dispatch, receiving, stock movements, and product handling.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams, projects, vehicles, and deadlines.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence providing explicit instructions, coaching team members, addressing underperformance, and delivering direct verbal and written feedback.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
A high level of personal accountability, reliability, urgency, and attention to detail.
The ability to remain calm, organised, and solutions-focused in a busy and changing operational environment.
Comfortable working in a hands-on role and assisting the team with operational activities when required.
Proficiency using warehouse management systems, inventory systems, scheduling platforms, tablets, and general computer applications.
A valid Australian driver licence.
A forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
Experience in property styling, furniture removals, furniture hire, events, retail distribution, or a related industry would be highly regarded.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
Daily warehouse and logistics activities are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Vehicles and teams depart on time with the correct furniture and equipment.
Inventory is stored correctly and inventory records remain accurate.
Team members receive clear direction and are held accountable for their responsibilities.
Furniture is handled carefully, and damage, loss, and preventable errors are minimised.
The warehouse remains clean, organised, safe, and ready for the following day's operations.
Operational issues are identified early, communicated clearly, and resolved quickly.
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is effectively supported with the daily leadership and management of the department.
The successful candidate is capable of confidently leading the department when the Warehouse & Logistics Manager is unavailable.
