The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Regional Development, the Regional Development Officer supports the promotion, delivery and management of economic development initiatives that strengthen regional communities and businesses. The role provides project support across a range of regional development programs by administering and monitoring grant applications and projects, undertaking research and analysis, and preparing high-quality advice and correspondence. This opportunity is ideal for a self-motivated skilled with strong organisational and communication skills who enjoys building productive relationships and contributing to place-based solutions that enhance the liveability and prosperity of regional communities.
Main Accountabilities
Build and maintain productive relationships with government, community, business and industry stakeholders to support integrated regional investment.
Support investment attraction, economic development and regional recovery initiatives by identifying and facilitating regional development opportunities.
Promote, deliver and manage development initiatives for regional businesses and communities, including supporting new investment opportunities.
Support grant and milestone management activities, monitor grant recipient performance and contribute to the successful delivery of government funding programs.
Undertake research, analysis and project support, including preparing high-quality reports, submissions, presentations, briefings and correspondence.

Regional Development Victoria works with businesses,
communities and government to deliver economic growth, create jobs, build resilience and support economic recovery across regional Victoria. The team develops strong partnerships, activates local networks and brings community insights into government decision-making to deliver positive regional outcomes.
About You
You will bring experience in project management, business development or account management, with the ability to plan, coordinate and deliver projects while anticipating and managing emerging issues. You will have strong stakeholder management skills, building trusted relationships and delivering responsive customer service across government, business and community sectors. You will also demonstrate sound problem-solving skills, using research, analysis and stakeholder engagement to develop practical solutions and support successful project outcomes.
