We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable
Painter & Decorator / Team Leader
to join our busy team on a contract basis with the strong possibility of transitioning into a
permanent full-time position
.
If you are a hands‐on professional with strong leadership qualities, meticulous attention to detail, and expertise in specialised techniques—including paint stripping and lead paint removal—we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and guide a small team of painters on‐site to ensure high‐quality workmanship and strict adherence to project timelines.
General Painting & Decorating:
Execute high‐end interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, priming, paperhanging, and finishing works across residential and/or commercial sites.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
Maintain a safe work environment, enforce site OH&S; policies, and ensure all work meets company quality standards.
Client Liaison:
Communicate effectively with clients, site managers,
and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of
8 years
of demonstrated experience in the painting and decorating trade.
Leadership Skills:
Proven experience leading a team, coordinating daily tasks, and driving productivity on‐site.
Trade Qualifications:
Relevant trade certificate/qualification in Painting and Decorating.
Licenses & Equipment:
Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
Work Ethic:
Strong problem‐solving abilities, punctuality, and a proactive, safety‐first attitude.
