Due to continued growth and high market demand, they are seeking a motivated and experienced
Leading Hand / Production Operator
to join their team immediately.

temporary-to-permanent
position, this role also boasts fantastic lifestyle hours:
Monday to Friday, 6:00 am starts, finishing by 2:30 pm
, leaving your afternoons completely free!
What You Will Be Doing:
As a combined Production Operator and Leading Hand, you will wear both hats seamlessly:
Production Focus:
Operating specialised manufacturing machinery to produce premium natural cork and polymer composite marine decking.
Batching & Mixing:
Engaging in batching and mixing processes to maintain consistent product quality (experience with rubber or plastics is a massive advantage).
Manual Handling:
Performing active, hands‐on material handling duties to keep production flowing efficiently.
Team Leadership:
Supervising,
mentoring, and guiding a close‐knitted production team of ***** staff, fostering a collaborative and safety‐focused environment.
Maintenance Support:
Utilising your basic maintenance background to perform general troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on plant machinery to minimise downtime.
Quality & Safety:
Maintaining a strict focus on quality control, safety protocols, and OH&S; principles at all times.
Problem‐Solving:
Working both collaboratively within your team and independently to identify and resolve operational challenges.
What You Bring to the Team:
Experience:
A minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing/production environment, ideally with experience leading or supervising a small team.
Technical Background:
A basic maintenance background with the ability to troubleshoot and perform general preventative maintenance.
Physical Capability:
A high level of physical fitness and the ability to safely perform manual handling duties.
Mindset:
A punctual, reliable, and highly self-driven work ethic combined with a genuine desire to learn and upskill.
Attributes:
Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for working in a team while taking individual ownership of responsibilities.
