About the Role
As the Duty Manager, you will:
Prioritize safety at all times, actively supervising members and visitors across pool halls, spa, sauna, sports hall, and play areas, and monitoring their wellbeing.
Lead and support casual staff, providing on-the-job training, guidance, and supervision to ensure effective team performance.
Coordinate daily operations, including bookings, facility setup and pack down, maintaining supplies,
and ensuring plant and equipment are functional and clean.
Ensure compliance and safety, following WHS, Risk Management policies, and all relevant procedures, and promptly reporting issues to the Aquatic Operations Team Leader.
Maintain facility standards, including cleanliness, presentation, water quality testing, daily cleaning tasks, preventative maintenance, and program setups.
Deliver exceptional customer service, liaising with patrons, user groups, and staff, resolving conflicts, and reporting all feedback to the Aquatic Operations Team Leader.
Complete accurate administration and record-keeping, including incident reports and other required documentation.
Participate in training and development, including regular in-house sessions, specialist training, and staff meetings (minimum four per year).
Undertake additional duties, projects, or tasks as directed, including working at the Customer Service desk as required.
What You'll Bring
Detailed knowledge of statutory obligations and legislation relevant to Centre operations.
Knowledge of Lifeguarding principles and protected pool operations.
Understanding of water testing,
water quality and the NSW Health's Public Swimming Pool and Spa Pool Advisory Document.
Thorough knowledge of filtration, chemical treatment, heating systems and controls.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and conflict resolution.
Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
Current Provide First Aid Certificate
Current Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
Current Working with Children Check
Current Aquatic Technical Operator Certificate (Pool Ops) or proof of enrolment
Certificate III or IV in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation
Successful candidates may be required to undertake pre‐employment screening including police, working with children check and qualification checks.
