Our client is a leading national logistics and transport business seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a large-scale delivery and fleet operation across a fast-paced environment.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, fleet utilisation, customer outcomes, safety, and team engagement. You will lead a team of operational leaders while overseeing a large network of delivery contractors and ensuring service levels, productivity, and commercial objectives are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of operational leaders
Manage daily transport, routing and resource allocation activities
Drive fleet utilisation, productivity and service performance
Develop and execute workforce planning and contractor retention strategies
Monitor and improve operational KPIs and customer outcomes
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Manage performance,



coaching and development across the operation
Ensure compliance with safety and Chain of Responsibility requirements
Partner with internal stakeholders to support operational and commercial objectives
About You
Proven leadership experience within transport, logistics, distribution or OTR delivery environments
Experience managing large operational teams
Demonstrated ability to improve performance, engagement and operational efficiency
Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
Passion for leading people and creating high-performing teams
