Maintenance Fitter / Shift Technician
to join our high-performing Maintenance team at our Truganina manufacturing facility.

About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance, reliability and safety of our production equipment across a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams, you'll troubleshoot equipment issues, minimise downtime and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant performance.
This role offers exposure to a diverse range of manufacturing equipment and automated production systems within a fast-paced food and beverage environment.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime
Complete preventative, planned and corrective maintenance activities
Diagnose and rectify faults across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation systems
Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
Support production line changeovers and equipment start-ups
Maintain maintenance records, work orders and spare parts inventory through our maintenance management system
Work closely with Production teams to maximise equipment performance and uptime
Coordinate maintenance contractors when required
Promote safe work practices and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP and food safety standards
Contribute to a positive team culture focused on accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Electrician or similar trade
Experience working within FMCG, food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, packaging, plastics or other automated production environments
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
Experience maintaining high-speed manufacturing equipment
Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
A proactive approach to workplace safety and continuous improvement
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Highly Regarded
Restricted Electrical Licence
Experience within beverage, food or packaging manufacturing
Experience with bottling, filling, conveying, packaging, palletising or automated production systems
Experience supporting equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects
Work Pattern
This position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift roster supporting our 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Roster Highlights:
Work 7 shifts (84 hours) per fortnight
Fortnightly rotation between day and night shift cycles
Day Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm
Night Shift: 6:00pm - 6:00am
Permanent full-time position
Regular extended periods away from work
This roster provides the benefits of full-time employment while offering extended breaks between working blocks.
