Woods & Co Recruitment
have partnered with a leading Australian luxury home builder with over 65 years of history to find an experienced IT Manager to join their Melbourne team.
This is a genuinely exciting prospect for a hands‐on IT generalist who wants to do more than just keep the lights on. You will take full ownership of the technology function, manage an embedded Managed Service Provider and play a central role in shaping the digital future of an iconic Australian brand.
We are looking to speak with experienced IT Managers, IT Operations Managers, or senior IT generalists who have thrived as the go‐to technology person in a small‐to‐mid‐sized business and are ready to bring both their technical skills and their ideas to a business that genuinely wants to be a technology leader in its sector.
What's in it for you?
Senior, high‐impact role with genuine influence over the technology direction of an award‐winning business
Work directly with senior leadership - your recommendations will be heard
Manage your own technology agenda - scope, plan and deliver projects that make a real difference
Lead a cyber security uplift and Power BI implementation from the ground up
Collaborative, close‐knit team environment within a privately‐owned company that values long‐term relationships
Beautiful Melbourne office with an embedded MSP team you'll manage day‐to‐day
Opportunity to help pioneer technology innovation across a business with operations in Victoria and Queensland
Be part of a brand with over 65 years of history and a culture built on quality and craftsmanship
What you'll do?
Own and manage the company's IT infrastructure including networks, servers,

cloud environments and end‐user devices
Manage the embedded Managed Service Provider - set direction, own outcomes and hold them accountable
Lead a comprehensive review of all existing IT systems, infrastructure and processes and present your recommendations to leadership
Drive the implementation of Power BI across the business to improve data visibility and reporting
Own the cyber security uplift program including MFA, endpoint protection, patch management and user awareness training
Manage business systems including ERP, CRM, Microsoft 365 and other productivity and operational platforms
Oversee IT operations across head office and satellite sites including hardware refresh, software licensing and asset management
Build strong relationships with non‐technical stakeholders across sales, construction, finance and the broader leadership team
Manage third‐party vendor and supplier contracts and negotiations
Maintain business continuity planning, backup and disaster recovery procedures
Proactively identify and champion emerging technologies that can give the business a competitive edge
What we're looking for?
Proven experience as an IT Manager or senior IT generalist, ideally as the senior or sole IT person in a small‐to‐mid‐sized business

Demonstrated experience managing an MSP or external vendor relationship, including setting performance expectations and owning outcomes
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and the broader Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform)
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure including networking, servers, cloud environments and security
Experience leading or contributing to a technology or infrastructure review
Practical knowledge of cyber security principles, controls and uplift programs
Exposure to Power BI or similar business intelligence and data visualisation tools is advantageous
Comfortable operating as both a strategic thinker and a hands, on practitioner - this role requires both
Strong communicator who can translate technical concepts clearly for a non‐technical audience
A proactive pioneer mindset - someone who surfaces ideas and opportunities, not just someone who responds to requests
Pragmatic and commercially minded, able to balance innovation with value‐for‐money solutions
Experience in property, construction or professional services is a bonus but not essential

We do not discriminate and encourage applications (no matter age or status) from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, all members and genders of the LGBTQI community and people with disability.
