THE OPPORTUNITY
We're expanding and looking for our next friendly, customer-focused Accountant to join our stable and high-performing accounting practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant with Australian public practice experience who enjoys building relationships with clients while producing high-quality compliance work.
The primary focus of this role will be preparingSelf-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) using BGL, together withIndividual Income Tax Returns.
You'll also assist with a variety of accounting and bookkeeping services, providing genuine variety throughout the year.
Experience preparing Company, Trust and Partnership Tax Returns, together with financial statements, will be highly regarded.

This is a varied role where you'll work closely with our bookkeeping, payroll and administration teams to deliver exceptional service while continuing to develop your technical skills.

Due to ongoing referrals and continued growth, we're seeking another experienced Accountant to join our team of 20 professionals and take ownership of a portfolio of valued clients.

An Accountant with Australian public practice experience
Experienced preparing SMSF financial statements and tax returns using BGL
Experienced preparing Individual Income Tax Returns

REQUIREMENTS
Degree qualified in Accounting (or nearing completion)
Minimum 2 years' Australian public practice experience
Experience preparing SMSFs usingBGL(or exposure to BGL with a willingness to learn)
Experience preparingIndividual Income Tax Returns
Experience preparing Company, Trust and Partnership Tax Returns will be highly regarded
Experience preparing financial statements
Xero experience highly regarded
Experience withActive Workpapers, XPM and TaxDomewill be highly regarded
Strong attention to detail
Tech-savvy, with a willingness to embrace new systems and technology
RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of Individual Income Tax Returns
Preparation of Company, Trust and Partnership Tax Returns
Preparation of SMSF financial statements and tax returns using BGL




Preparation of financial statements and workpapers
Preparation of BAS and IAS
Payroll processing, including Superannuation and STP reporting
Preparation of WorkCover wages declarations and calculations
Preparation and lodgement of Portable Long Service Leave returns
General bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and client file maintenance during quieter tax periods
Liaising directly with clients regarding taxation and accounting matters
Assisting with ATO correspondence and compliance requirements
Reviewing client records and identifying opportunities for improvement
Working collaboratively with our bookkeeping and payroll teams
Participating in ongoing CPD and professional development

HOURS & FLEXIBILITY
This role offers flexibility from15 to 38 hours per week, depending on your availability and experience.
Availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays is essential, as these are key working days for our team.
Our office hours are7:00am–5:00pm Monday to Thursdayand7:00am–3:00pm Friday.
To support genuine work/life balance, team members can generally choose their working hours between6:0am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, by agreement.
No one works more than 38 hours per week, and no one is expected to answer emails or phone calls outside work hours.
