Sunrise2Sunrise is seeking an experienced and passionate House Manager to lead a specialist supported accommodation home in Melbourne's South East.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in disability accommodation services, understands the complexities of supporting people with high and complex support needs, and leads by example.
As House Manager, you will combine operational leadership with direct participant support, creating a safe, empowering and person-centred home where participants receive exceptional support and staff are empowered to succeed. You will provide day-to-day leadership, build a positive and accountable team culture, and work collaboratively with the participant, their family and an experienced multidisciplinary team to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Reporting to an Area Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational excellence, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement within a growing and respected disability service provider.
About Us
Sunrise2Sunrise is a proudly family-owned, values-driven organisation delivering high-quality disability, TAC, DFFH, and Child, Youth & Family services across Victoria.
As a registered NDIS provider, we are recognised for combining solid governance, clinical oversight and regulatory compliance with genuine compassion, responsiveness and person-centred support.
Everything we do is guided by our commitment to empowering people to live meaningful, independent and fulfilling lives. We work collaboratively with participants, families and multidisciplinary teams to deliver supports that are tailored, evidence-informed and focused on achieving positive outcomes.
At Sunrise2Sunrise, we live by our motto:
"Care when you need it, how you want it."
We proudly call our staff Life Changers, because every day they make a genuine difference in the lives of the people we support. We believe that by investing in our people, fostering strong leadership and creating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, we can deliver exceptional outcomes for both our participants and our team.
The Opportunity
As House Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of a specialist supported accommodation service while providing visible, hands-on leadership to your team. Working alongside Disability Support Workers, the participant, their family and a multidisciplinary team, you'll create a safe, empowering and person-centred setting that promotes independence, wellbeing and meaningful outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Lead, supervise and develop a team of Disability Support Workers through coaching, mentoring, supervision and performance development.
Foster a positive team culture built on accountability, collaboration, respect and continuous improvement.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring safe, high-quality and person-centred service delivery.
Model best practice by remaining actively involved in direct participant support where required.
Ensure Behaviour Support Plans, allied health recommendations, Positive Behaviour Support strategies and high-intensity support requirements are implemented consistently.
Coordinate staffing requirements, monitor roster effectiveness and proactively address workforce issues.
Ensure incidents, risks, restrictive practices and compliance obligations are managed in accordance with organisational policies, the NDIS Practice Standards and relevant legislation.
Monitor household operations, participant expenditure, vehicle maintenance and property presentation.
Maintain high-quality documentation and ensure reporting is accurate, timely and compliant.
Develop robust collaborative relationships with the participant, their family, guardians, allied health professionals and other stakeholders.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance participant outcomes and service quality.
About You
We are seeking an experienced disability leader who brings both operational capability and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional, person-centred supports.
To be successful, you will have:
A minimum of three years' experience within Supported Independent Living (SIL), Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Supported Accommodation or similar disability services.
Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or a related qualification (or higher).
Demonstrated experience working within the NDIS
Experience supporting the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and working within restrictive practice frameworks where applicable.
Experience working collaboratively with Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and other allied health professionals.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, supervising and developing Disability Support Workers.
Experience coordinating rosters, managing day-to-day house operations and maintaining service continuity.
Excellent written communication skills, including documentation, incident management and compliance reporting.
Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to remain calm and effective in complex situations.
Please note:
This is not an entry-level leadership role. We are seeking a highly experienced House Manager who can confidently lead a specialist support team, drive service quality, and ensure exceptional participant outcomes.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is measured by the quality of leadership you provide and the outcomes achieved for the participant.
You'll be successful when you:
Build a stable, engaged and high-performing team that delivers consistent, person-centred supports.
Create an environment where the participant feels respected, safe and empowered to exercise genuine choice and control.
Lead with integrity, professionalism and accountability, setting the standard for others to follow.
Develop a confident and capable workforce through coaching, supervision, reflective practice and ongoing development.
Ensure Behaviour Support Plans, allied health recommendations and support strategies are consistently translated into everyday practice.
Maintain documentation that is timely, objective, meaningful and supports continuity of care, safeguarding and compliance.
Identify emerging risks early and implement proactive strategies that reduce incidents and improve outcomes.
Foster trusted partnerships with the participant, their family, guardians and multidisciplinary team.
Ensure the home consistently achieves high standards of quality, safety, compliance and participant satisfaction.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement that delivers measurable benefits for both the participant and the wider team.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a support service, working alongside an engaged family and an experienced multidisciplinary team to make a genuine and lasting difference in a young person's life.
