The Role
We're looking for an experienced and strategic
Manager Health and Safety - Systems and Performance
to join our People, Culture & Safety team on a
permanent full-time basis
.
Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, this role leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of TasWater's health and safety systems, performance frameworks, analytics and strategic programs. You'll play a key role in strengthening organisational capability, improving safety outcomes and ensuring our approach to health and safety remains contemporary, data-driven and aligned to business priorities.
This is a unique opportunity to influence safety performance across a complex organisation, partnering with leaders at all levels to drive continuous improvement, innovation and strategic change.
In this role, you will:
Lead the governance, prioritisation and delivery of TasWater's Health & Safety Program of Work.
Drive the continuous improvement of health and safety management systems, frameworks, standards and processes.
Develop and enhance health and safety performance measures, reporting, analytics and insights.
Lead strategic initiatives and transformational programs that strengthen organisational safety capability and maturity.




Maintain and enhance our Health & Safety Risk Profile to support informed decision-making.
Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and technology solutions.
Provide expert advice on health and safety systems, performance, governance and risk management.
Build solid relationships across the business to influence positive safety outcomes and support strategic change.
Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of trust, inclusion and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
We're seeking a collaborative and influential leader with a strong background in health and safety systems, performance improvement and organisational change.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
Tertiary qualifications in health and safety, occupational hygiene, project management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience developing and improving health and safety systems, reporting frameworks, analytics and risk management tools.
Demonstrated experience leading strategic programs and transformational change initiatives.
Strong leadership capability with experience building organisational capability and driving performance improvement.
Experience working within high-risk operational environments such as utilities, mining, construction, energy, logistics or similar industries.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, standards and best practice.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders.
A data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement.
A current Class C Driver Licence.

The Details
This role can be based in either
Hobart, Launceston, or Devonpor
t and attracts a salary of
$157,359 - $174,853 (inclusive of superannuation)
.
Please note that this role may occasionally require after-hours work or participation in an on-call roster to support business and operational requirements.
