Queensland Rugby Union's (QRU) commercial team play a critical role in delivering partnerships within an organisation that comprises of three key pillars:
Queensland Reds:Professional (Super Rugby Pacific), Semi-Professional (Super Rugby Women's) and Elite Pathways (Reds U16s, Reds U19s, Reds Sevens) teams
Queensland Rugby Union:The Governing Body for the code, state‐wide, responsible (in collaboration with delivery partners and sub-unions) for the delivery of senior and junior Rugby across Queensland
Ballymore Stadium:Multi-sport and major event stadium located just kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, and home to the BMS National Training Centre; a state-of-the-art training facility
Role Purpose
The Senior Partnership Manager is responsible for leading the account management of key QRU commercial partners and suppliers, including game day execution, reporting and prospecting for new partners.
They will oversee the development and growth of the Partnerships Coordinator as their direct Manager, and act as a senior leader within the broader Commercial & Consumer team, and will also assist with the planning and delivery of some key commercial events.
This role requires the ability to focus on developing and maintaining outstanding internal and external relationships.
Overseeing the major partners within the QRU commercial portfolio, the development and management of key relationships within those organisations is at the heart of this role.
Many of the critical internal relationships are inter-departmental, including working closely across key team members in the Professional Rugby, Elite Pathways, Content, Community Rugby, Customer Engagement and Government Relations fields.
Role Specific Tasks
Overseeing the Partnerships Coordinator as their direct manager;
Utilising experience and understanding of the corporate partnerships and sports sectors to manage designated existing QRU partnerships and deliver contracted benefits (including signage, apparel entitlements,
ticketing and hospitality, event, content production, player appearances, merchandise and more);
Developing and maintaining solid relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
Developing strategies to maximise partnership management and encourage development and growth of partnerships, leading to high retention and increased investment and engagement;
Developing creative and unique activation opportunities for commercial partners;
Managing internal and external partner deliverables;
Producing external in-depth analysis and reporting to deliver to existing partners;
Managing relevant commercial player and coaching staff appearances and commitments;
Assisting with the planning and delivery of events including Queensland Reds Super Rugby Pacific and Women's W gamedays, Rugby and non-Rugby events at Ballymore Stadium, major QRU events and functions, QRU commercial networking events and tour; and
Contributing to the development and implementation of over-arching brand strategies for the QRU, its events and properties to ensure a cohesive implementation of strategies across the organisation, commercial partners and third parties.

Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of commercial experience working within professional sporting environments, or account management and sponsor servicing;
Tertiary qualifications in the marketing / sports management / business field;
Experience managing direct reports and leading their growth and development;
Experience assisting with conceptualisation, planning and delivery of events (non-essential); and
Some base knowledge of Rugby Union is advantageous.
