Write the email and content that helps farmers, producers and rural operators get more from the technology they rely on.

Rural Australia
"I love a sunburnt country,A land of sweeping plains."
Some marketing roles are about finding increasingly creative ways to sell things people could happily live without.
This is not one of those roles.
Big Wave Digital is recruiting an Email Marketing & Content Specialist for a fast-growing Australian technology company helping farmers, producers and rural operators manage their properties more efficiently.
Its technology solves practical, everyday problems across large agricultural operations, where distance, time, weather and limited visibility can make even simple decisions complicated.
We are looking for a talented email marketer and content creator who can take customer insights, product knowledge and real stories from rural Australia and turn them into communications people genuinely want to read.
Email marketing is the main event.
Content creation is the engine behind it.
Video editing is the very practical bonus parked in the shed.
This is a role for someone who loves strong writing, understands customer journeys and knows that good marketing is not about filling a calendar.
It is about creating useful, timely and relevant communication that helps people understand a product, trust a business and take action.
Based in Roseville on Sydney's North Shore, you will join an ambitious and collaborative marketing team with the opportunity to help build a sophisticated email and content capability from the ground up.
The opportunity
The company has developed practical technology that helps agricultural businesses gain greater visibility across their operations, reduce unnecessary travel, save time and make better decisions.
The next stage of growth is about communicating that value more effectively.
That means creating better email journeys, clearer product education, stronger customer stories and more useful content for people working across farming, agriculture and regional Australia.
You will work closely with marketing, creative, sales, customer and product teams to understand:
What prospective customers need to know before they buy
What new customers need to feel confident getting started
What existing customers need to get more value from the technology
What stories will build trust within rural communities
What content can support retention, expansion and long-term customer relationships
This is not a narrow production role where you are handed a brief, asked to write three paragraphs and then disappear until the next campaign.
You will be encouraged to bring ideas, improve processes, question weak messaging and help shape how the business communicates with its customers.
Email marketing is the main event
That may include:
Regular customer newsletters
Welcome and onboarding journeys
Lead nurture campaigns
Product education programs
Customer tips and practical how-to content
New product launches
Seasonal campaigns and promotions
Re-engagement campaigns
Customer retention communications
Cross-sell and expansion journeys
Renewal messaging
Customer surveys and feedback campaigns
Case studies, testimonials and advocacy programs
You will write compelling subject lines, preview text, email copy and calls to action, ensuring every campaign has a clear audience and a clear purpose.
You will think beyond sending the email.
Open rates and clicks matter, of course.

But the bigger question is whether the email helped someone better understand the product, get more value from it or feel more confident taking the next step.
Experience with email marketing, CRM or marketing automation platforms will be important.
The specific system matters less than your ability to understand journeys, segmentation, testing, performance and continuous improvement.
Create content with a genuine purpose
Alongside email marketing, you will create content that brings the company, its products and its customers to life.
Agricultural technology can be complex.
Your job will be to make it clear, practical and human.
You will translate technical information into content that feels accessible without becoming simplistic.
You will find the story behind the feature and the real-world benefit behind the product description.
Your content may include:
Customer and producer stories
Case studies and testimonials
Product education
How-to guides
Website and landing-page copy
Articles and industry perspectives
Campaign concepts
Social media content
Sales and customer support materials
Product launch communications
Interview questions and story outlines
Scripts for customer and product videos
Company milestones and brand stories
One day, you might interview a producer about the realities of managing water across thousands of hectares.
The next day, you might write an onboarding email helping a new customer understand how to get started.
Later that week, you could be working with the product team to turn a new feature into a clear campaign that answers the most important customer question:
How will this make my operation easier, safer or more efficient?
Tell authentic stories from rural Australia
The strongest content will come from understanding the people who use the technology.
You will have opportunities to speak with farmers, producers and rural operators, learning about their businesses, their challenges and the decisions they make every day.
There may also be occasional travel to regional or customer locations to help capture real stories, product use cases and customer experiences.
This is not about arriving with a marketing script and trying to force someone's experience into it.
You will work across four broad stages:
Attract.Help potential customers understand the business, the problems it solves and why its technology is relevant to them.
Educate.Explain products and features in language that is clear, practical and easy to understand.
Support.Help customers feel confident using the technology and getting more value from it.
Grow.Sometimes the right answer will be an email journey, a customer guide, a case study, a landing page or a two-minute product explanation that saves the customer ten minutes of confusion.
Video editing is a bonus
Video is an increasingly valuable way to explain products, share customer experiences and capture the scale and character of rural Australia.
However, this is not primarily a videographer role.
You do not need to arrive with a documentary crew, three drones and an ambition to direct the next great Australian outback epic.
Experience editing straightforward,

engaging video content would be highly regarded.
Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut or similar tools would be useful, but strong email marketing and writing ability will remain the priority.
Country knowledge counts
"And he sees the vision splendidOf the sunlit plains extended."
Ideally, you will bring:
Hands-on experience creating and delivering email marketing campaigns
Experience building customer journeys, nurture programs or automated email sequences
Experience using an email marketing, CRM or marketing automation platform
Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills
The ability to write engaging subject lines and clear calls to action
Experience creating content across email, web, social and digital channels
An understanding of segmentation and customer lifecycle marketing
The ability to translate technical information into clear, accessible language
Strong attention to detail
The confidence to interview customers and subject‐matter experts
The ability to manage a content calendar and multiple priorities
An understanding of campaign measurement, testing and optimisation
The ability to work collaboratively across marketing, sales, product and customer teams
The confidence to recommend ideas rather than waiting for every answer to be provided
A practical, organised and commercially aware approach
Experience in agriculture, agritech, rural industries or technology products would be especially valuable.
Video editing, photography or basic motion design skills would be an excellent bonus.
You will probably enjoy this role if you...
Become slightly too excited by a strong email subject line
Believe clear writing is a serious professional skill
Can find the human story inside a technical product
Prefer useful content over content created purely to satisfy an algorithm
Enjoy combining creativity with commercial outcomes
Like interviewing interesting people and asking good questions
Are comfortable taking ownership of your work
Can manage several projects without losing the important details
Want to create marketing that serves a genuine practical purpose
Would enjoy occasionally swapping the office for a paddock, property or regional customer visit
What you will build
Over time, you will help build:
A consistent and well-planned email marketing program
Clearer customer journeys across acquisition, onboarding and retention
Stronger product education
A reliable content calendar
Better customer storytelling
More effective segmentation and campaign testing
A useful library of customer, product and brand content
Stronger connections between the company and rural communities
A more efficient process for creating and repurposing content
You will have the chance to:
Shape the company's email marketing strategy
Build customer journeys from the ground up
Tell authentic stories from Australian agriculture
Work closely with experienced marketing and creative leaders
Create content linked to real customer and business outcomes
Develop your skills across email, content, customer marketing and agritech
Work in an environment where useful ideas can move quickly
Create marketing that has a practical and visible impact
If you are an email marketer, sharp writer and curious content creator who would enjoy helping tell the stories of Australian agriculture, this could be a very special next step.
