A multi award winning joinery manufacturing and installation company on the Central Coast is seeking the services of an experienced Financial Controller who is energetic and proficient in this field. This is a very hands‐on role, working directly with all levels within the company. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety in their role and doesn't mind mixing some filing or occasional data entry with the number crunching. The role is part time, working 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and audit requirements.
Manufacturing & Project Costing
Monitor job profitability across joinery projects.
Develop and maintain costing models for materials, labour, and overheads.
Analyse variances between estimated and actual project costs.
Track work‐in‐progress (WIP) and project margins.
Inventory & Procurement
Control timber, hardware, and finished goods inventory.
Monitor stock valuation and stock‐turn performance.
Support procurement decisions through cost analysis.
Business Partnering
Work closely with the General Manager, Project Managers and Factory Foreman.
Provide insights on pricing, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Support business growth,



investment decisions, and strategic planning.
Systems & Controls
Improve financial systems and reporting processes.
Maintain and find improvements in internal controls and risk management procedures.
Gross margin
Project profitability
Key Skills & Experience
Tertiary Accounting Qualifications.
Experience in manufacturing, joinery, cabinetry, construction, or project‐based industries highly regarded.
Robust knowledge of ERP systems (Xero, Jobman).
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
Understanding of WIP accounting, inventory management, and project costing.
Typical KPIs
Cash flow performance.
Inventory turnover.
Debtor days and creditor days.
Project profitability
Duties include but not limited to:
Complete creditor and debtor control
Cash flow forecasts and monitoring
Project costing and monitoring
Liaise with in‐house project management teams for specific project requirements
Weekly project reporting to management
BAS/PAYG/Payroll Tax Lodgement
Preparation of Monthly Management Reports with detailed commentary
Preparation of Annual Budgets
Revised forecasts
Direct liaising with external accountant
