Automotive Spray Painter Assistant
to join our team in Mittagong, NSW. This is a
full-time position
offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the automotive refinishing industry. As an assistant, you will work alongside experienced spray painters, learning industry-standard techniques and best practices whilst contributing to the delivery of high-quality paint and panel work for our clients. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in automotive refinishing and offers a clear pathway for career progression within the automotive trades sector.
Key responsibilities
Assisting experienced spray painters in the preparation and spray application of automotive finishes
Preparing vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and cleaning to industry standards
Mixing and preparing paint products according to job requirements
Applying base coats, transparent coats, and other paint finishes under supervision
Operating spray guns and related equipment
Maintaining cleanliness of the spray booth and work areas
Supporting the panel beating team with surface preparation and finishing tasks as required
What we're looking for
Genuine interest in the automotive trades and a commitment to developing spray painting skills
Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team




Strong work ethic and punctuality
Willingness to learn and ask questions to develop technical knowledge
Previous experience in automotive, manufacturing, or trades environments (preferred but not essential)
