professional to join our team in Leichhardt, NSW. This is a
full-time position
offering an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service in a dynamic Trade environment. You will be the face of our hardware store, assisting customers with product knowledge, providing expert advice on timber and hardware solutions, and ensuring a seamless experience. This role is essential to our store's success and directly contributes to building strong customer relationships and driving sales growth.
Key responsibilities
Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service to all store visitors, assisting with product selection and purchase decisions
Deliver expert advice on timber specifications, hardware products, and their appropriate applications
Process customer transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
Maintain store displays, shelving, and product organisation to ensure an inviting shopping environment
Receive, check, and stock incoming inventory in a timely and efficient manner
Demonstrate products to customers and explain features, benefits, and pricing
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and constructive manner
Maintain knowledge of current promotions, stock levels, and pricing information
Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
Comply with all health and safety regulations and store policies
What we're looking for
Previous experience in a Trade environment, ideally within hardware, timber, or building supplies
Strong product knowledge or demonstrated ability to quickly learn technical information about hardware and timber products




Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping customers
Sound numeracy skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems
Physical capability to handle and move heavy items, including timber and building materials
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational and time management skills
Reliability and punctuality
A flexible approach to working hours, including potential weekend availability
Preferred: Experience in timber sales, knowledge of building regulations, or relevant retail qualifications
