We require a
Chef
to join our team working across Penrith, Northmead and other venues under Maze Group.
This is a full time role (38 hours per week), an immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $78,000 - $85,000 per annum is on offer to the successful candidate.
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals while maintaining kitchen efficiency, food safety standards, and customer satisfaction.
Key duties include:
Preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items to a consistently high standard
Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs in consultation with management
Monitoring food quality and portion control to minimise waste
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
Managing food preparation, cooking schedules, and service during busy periods




Selecting, ordering, and checking the quality of ingredients and supplies
Supervising and training kitchen staff as required
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and storage areas
Ensuring correct storage, labelling, and rotation of food stock
Adapting menus to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
Assisting with inventory control and stock management
Requirements
Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery / Culinary Arts (Certificate III or equivalent)
Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment
Robust knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning
Experience with inventory management, portion control, and food costing
Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Creativity and ability to adapt menus to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
Attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to high-quality food presentation
