Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge – Tanawha QLD
The Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge (SCARS) was established in **** to provide temporary refuge and find new homes for abandoned, abused, stray and unwanted cats and dogs. The Refuge is managed by an unpaid, elected committee, and run by a small staffing compliment and a large dedicated group of volunteers including Kennel and Cattery Teams, Facility Management, Administration Support, Foster Carers, SCARS Markets, and a range of fundraising and awareness events conducted throughout the year.
Purpose of Position
This position is a customer-facing role, providing exceptional customer service to members of the public as well as administrative support for other areas of the organisation. The characteristics of the role feature a fast paced and dynamic environment where individuals are required to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining an empathetic and skilled demeanor.
This Role is Part-Time 9.30am- 5.30pm every Friday and Saturday + Every 3rd Sunday
Key Responsibilities
Greeting and talking to the public re the process for possible animal adoptions, and or surrenders which includes completion of relevant paperwork, arranging meet and greets between prospective adopters and animals.
Timely and efficient processing and handling of emails and phone calls
Ability to facilitate eftpos transactions and completion of end of day/week balancing processes.
Completion and updating of animal records within database ensuring record accuracy which includes microchip, vaccination and related medical information.
In collaboration with Animal Behavior Trainer, Animal Support Officer and Veterinary Team, coordinate in-house vet appointment booking for Scars animals.
Facilitation, processing and dispatching of animal medication for SCARS animals currently in Foster arrangements.
In collaboration with Cat and Dog Foster Care Co-Ordinator's, arrange for veterinary appointments

Qualifications / Experience
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite (essential).
Experience with database software systems (desirable).
Demonstrated experience in high volume customer service role
Previous experience within an animal care/veterinary environment (desirable)
