Full-time, permanent position
Knoxfield depot (Eastern Suburbs) with work across metropolitan Melbourne
8-10 hour days, Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekend work available
Training provided (excavator operations and horizontal boring for suitable applicants)
Civil Worker (Underground Infrastructure)
Metro Utility Worx is a qualified civil contracting business based in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs, delivering services to utility providers across metropolitan Melbourne.
We are seeking motivated Civil Workers to join our team based out of our Knoxfield depot. You'll work within a tight-knit crew across multiple sites, carrying out a range of civil tasks focused on the installation of underground infrastructure.
Pay is negotiable and will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
Ongoing support and development opportunities are available for proven performers.
Eligibility
Australian citizenship is required for this position
Willingness to complete a Drug and Alcohol test
Able to commit to ongoing work and an immediate start (where available)
Key responsibilities
Carry out civil works associated with the installation of underground infrastructure
General labouring, excavation support, and site set-up/pack-down
Identify hazards, apply controls,



and participate in toolbox talks and pre-starts
Work safely around underground services and in suburban street environments
Operate plant and equipment as licensed (training provided for suitable applicants)
Follow instructions, work effectively within a crew, and maintain site safety standards

Physically fit and capable of meeting the demands of a physically role
Essential requirements
Construction Induction (White Card)
Current driver licence and full car licence
Minimum 1 year experience in construction or labouring work
Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions
Able to work safely as part of a crew and follow instructions
Desirable licences and tickets (advantageous but not essential)
MR/HR licence
First Aid
Traffic Control ticket
VESI Skills Passport
Experience in the power industry
VEDN accreditation
