Build a career in commercial finance while helping organisations that make a real difference.
We're partnering with a growing national organisation that supports Aboriginal communities across Australia. As the organisation continues to expand, they're looking to appoint a Finance Business Partner to work alongside operational leaders, helping them make informed decisions, improve business performance and support sustainable growth.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to step into, or further develop, a career in commercial finance.
You may be a Financial Accountant ready to move closer to the business, a first mover from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm wanting broader commercial exposure, or an existing Finance Business Partner looking for a role with greater variety and purpose.
One of the standout features of this opportunity is the people. You'll join an experienced, highly capable leadership team that is approachable, collaborative and genuinely invested in developing those around them. It's a business where you'll be trusted, supported and encouraged to grow.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you'll support a portfolio of community businesses operating across Australia.
Many of your stakeholders will be based remotely, so success in this role is built on relationships. You'll spend time understanding how each business operates, building trust with operational leaders and providing practical financial advice that helps them make better decisions.
This isn't a traditional Finance Business Partner role.
You'll certainly be involved in budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis, but you'll also work across financial reporting, board reporting, grant-funded programs, financial modelling,

tender support and business improvement initiatives. Some days you'll be analysing financial performance with an operational leader; others you'll be preparing financial models, supporting strategic projects or helping managers better understand the commercial drivers behind their business.
It's a broad role that offers exposure across both technical and commercial finance, making it an excellent platform for someone looking to continue developing their career.
About You
We're less interested in your current job title than we are in your potential.
You might currently be:
A Financial Accountant looking to move into commercial finance
A first mover from a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm
A Commercial or Financial Analyst wanting greater stakeholder exposure
An existing Finance Business Partner looking for broader experience
Whatever your background, you'll enjoy working with people as much as you enjoy working with numbers.
You'll be naturally organised, comfortable managing competing priorities and able to build credibility with a diverse range of stakeholders. You're someone who asks good questions, enjoys solving problems and can explain financial information in a way that's practical and easy to understand.
You'll also bring:
CA or CPA qualification (or be close to completion)
Strong accounting and analytical capability

A commercial mindset and genuine curiosity
Excellent communication skills
Patience, resilience and the ability to build trusted relationships with leaders across geographically dispersed teams
A willingness to occasionally travel interstate.
Why Join?
Finance plays an important role in this organisation. Rather than simply reporting the numbers, you'll work alongside leaders to help shape decisions, improve performance and support the continued growth of businesses delivering important services to Aboriginal communities.
$130,000 + Super
Exposure across technical accounting, commercial finance and business partnering
Mentoring from an experienced and supportive leadership team
A team-oriented culture where people enjoy working together
Genuine career development as the organisation continues to grow
The opportunity to build a well-rounded commercial finance skill set in a role with real variety
The Organisation
This national organisation partners with Aboriginal communities across Australia, delivering services that strengthen communities and create long-term positive outcomes.
As the organisation continues to grow, so do the opportunities for its people. Finance is viewed as a trusted business partner, and you'll have the chance to work closely with experienced leaders who value collaboration, practical thinking and continuous improvement.
If you're looking for a role that offers more than month-end reporting role where you'll broaden your commercial capability, build trusted relationships and work with leaders who are genuinely invested in your development—we'd welcome a confidential discussion.
