Key purpose of the role
This role is responsible for identifying, designing and implementing improvements to Finance processes, controls, systems and operating practices. The role works across Finance and business stakeholders to simplify processes, improve control effectiveness, reduce manual effort, increase standardisation and support scalable, data-driven finance operations.
Your responsibilities
Process optimisation and redesign Review existing Finance processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, duplication, bottlenecks and manual workarounds.
Lead the design and implementation of improved Finance processes that enhance efficiency, accuracy, transparency and scalability.
Drive standardisation of processes, templates, handoffs and accountabilities across Finance teams.
Automation,
systems and data enablement Identify opportunities to automate, digitise or simplify manual Finance activities.
Work with Finance Systems, Technology and business stakeholders to assess and prioritise system enhancement opportunities.
Governance, controls and documentation Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, controls, RACI matrices and training materials.
Ensure improved processes comply with Finance policies, audit requirements, risk frameworks and internal control standards.
Embed clear process ownership and governance to support sustainable adoption.
Performance measurement and benefits tracking Define success measures, KPIs and benefits for process improvement initiatives.
Track process performance, efficiency gains, control improvements and adoption outcomes.
Your experience and qualifications
Essential Experience in Finance, Finance Transformation, process improvement, business analysis or operational excellence.
Strong understanding of core Finance processes, such as procure-to-pay, planning, reporting, reconciliations, allocations and controls.
Demonstrated ability to map, analyse and redesign finance business processes.
Experience identifying automation, workflow or system improvement opportunities.
Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
Ability to translate business problems into practical process, control or system solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and deliver outcomes in a complex stakeholder environment.
Excellent communication skills are a given.
Motivated self-starter and disciplined with time management.
Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
Nice to have Experience with ERP, EPM or workflow tools such as Workday, Power BI, ServiceNow, or similar.
Lean Six Sigma, BPM, Agile, project management or business analysis certification.
Experience in regulated, listed, financial services or complex corporate environments.
Experience supporting Finance shared services, operating model changes or transformation programs.
