OHS Generalist - 12 Week Temporary Assignment
Our client is seeking an experienced OHS Generalist for a 12-week temporary assignment based in Fawkner.
This is an opportunity suited to a safety professional who enjoys working closely with leaders and staff to support compliance, strengthen safety systems, and contribute to a positive workplace culture across multiple sites.

About the role:
This role sits within the OHS team and supports the organisation to meet its legislative obligations to provide and maintain a safe working environment across its sites and grounds.
You will work collaboratively with staff and leaders to deliver OHS and wellbeing initiatives, support operational safety priorities, and contribute to the development and review of systems, procedures and tools that strengthen overall safety performance.
Key responsibilities:
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of OHS systems, processes and initiatives
Coordinate hazard identification, risk assessment and risk management activities
Promote safe plant and secure work practices across multiple sites
Conduct audits to measure compliance and program effectiveness
Support incident, hazard,
near miss and environmental risk reporting and investigation
Provide practical OHS advice and support to leaders, staff and committees
Contribute to continuous improvement and a strong workplace safety culture
Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying health and safety and risk management legislation
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across varied workgroups
Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to investigate issues, identify solutions and meet deadlines
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
A current Victorian driver's licence
Experience in a similar role is desirable, as is exposure to project-based safety initiatives.
Location and travel:
The role is primarily based in Fawkner, with travel required to other sites across the Northern Region and regular travel to Lilydale and the Eastern Region.
Additional requirements:
The successful candidate will be required to complete a
police check
as part of the pre-employment process.
