About the Opportunity
Hall Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join their Cairns team. This is a great opportunity to secure permanent, local work with a highly regarded contractor. Working on a range of marine and civil infrastructure projects, the successful candidate will be part of a supportive, high-performing team that takes pride in doing things right the first time.
What You'll Be Doing
Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Performing mechanical repairs and equipment overhauls
Responding to equipment breakdowns and troubleshooting issues
Using a digital maintenance system to log accurate service records




Ensuring compliance with OHS policies and contributing to a strong safety culture
Collaborating with site teams to ensure efficient, high-quality project delivery
What We're Looking For
Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic (essential)
Based in the Cairns region (essential)
Current C Class driver's licence (MR highly regarded)
Proven ability to work independently with strong time management skills
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
Experience in marine, civil or mining industries (advantageous)
First Aid, Shipboard Safety, or Recreational Boat Licence (a bonus)
