Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team in Mareeba ****. The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing light motor vehicles to ensure they operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
Skills and Experience
Applicants must have either:
A Certificate III or higher trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology, or a closely related field, together with at least one year of relevant work experience; or
At least three years of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic.
Key Responsibilities
The Motor Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles, including petrol engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, brakes and other mechanical components.
Duties
· Consult with the Workshop Manager to prioritise and complete scheduled servicing and repair work.




· Service and maintain light motor vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
· Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using manual inspections and diagnostic equipment.
· Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and other mechanical components.
· Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective parts, including bearings, hydraulic hoses and batteries.
· Tune engines and adjust mechanical systems to improve performance and reliability.
· Repair, fit and adjust braking systems.
· Test, balance, rotate and align wheels.
· Order required parts, lubricants and workshop materials.
· Attend vehicle breakdowns and maintain a clean, secure and organised work area.
Pay: $70,****** – $85,****** per year
