Senior Data & Advanced Analytics Analyst
A leading organisation is continuing to invest heavily in its modern Data & Advanced Analytics capability and is looking for a Senior Data & Analytics Analyst to join the team.
This is a genuinely unique opportunity to work on one of the organisation's highest-priority strategic initiatives, combining Python engineering, AI, analytics and stakeholder engagement in a role that will have a significant impact across the business.
The Role
This role has a strong focus on Python engineering and is ideally suited to someone with deep Python development experience, excellent SQL skills and hands‐on experience with GitHub Copilot.
You'll come from a strong SQL background and be comfortable working across modern Python development frameworks, analytics engineering environments and AI-enabled development practices.
The successful candidate will be dedicated 100% to one of the organisation's flagship strategic initiatives: a business‐wide AI transformation programme. This future‐focused project is driving AI adoption across the organisation by developing the tooling, frameworks and development environments that enable teams to effectively leverage AI in their day‐to‐day work.
Working closely with both technical and business stakeholders, you'll play a key role in building and enhancing Python‐based analytics, engineering solutions and AI capabilities that support this transformation.
You'll be responsible for developing scalable solutions that improve automation, accelerate analytics and enable teams to embrace modern AI technologies.
Alongside contributing to this major AI initiative, you'll also undertake core Python engineering responsibilities, developing, maintaining and enhancing Python applications while working within engineering best practices and delivering high‐quality, scalable solutions.
You'll also:




Design and develop Python‐based analytics applications and data products
Build dashboards and reporting solutions that drive business decision‐making
Develop automated data workflows and pipelines
Create modern data models and scalable BI solutions
Deliver predictive analytics and actionable insights
Drive self‐service analytics and citizen development
Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business problems into technical solutions
Contribute to the organisation's data strategy, governance and ongoing platform evolution
About You
You'll be a technically strong Python Engineer who enjoys solving complex business problems through modern engineering and analytics.
You'll ideally bring:
Advanced SQL skills
Hands‐on experience with GitHub Copilot
Experience building modern Python applications and analytics solutions
Power BI (including DAX) experience
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake or other modern cloud data platforms
Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, Streamlit or Dash
Experience building automated data pipelines and scalable data products
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience within financial services, investment management or another regulated environment will be highly regarded
