THE ROLE
The Policy & Project Officer works as a part of a team undertaking strategic and complex policy and projects providing a shared, cross-portfolio view of system performance and emerging risk,



enabling early intervention and informed decisions to strengthen the department's system insights, oversight and improvement practices with the community sector.
Working with internal and external stakeholders across department and the sector, the team fosters improved system performance and sustainability through:
System mapping and client flow analyses across major programs
Producing indicators of system health and pressure
Supporting Integrated market and regional risk intelligence (including provider sustainability)
Escalation of cross-program system risks
Translating data, demand modelling and intelligence into advice that informs decision-making and investment.
The role requires strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills to help deliver a range of initiatives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
Assist the monitoring and reporting on high priority issues, risks and trends and assist to prepare and present comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex issues.
Assist in providing advice to stakeholders and assisting in the preparation and presentation of reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on a range of matters.
Understand the strategic operating setting of the Department and engage critical thinking to identify gaps and areas of improvement.
