About The Role
The Lighting Design Engineer role is responsible for ensuring Lighting design plans (consisting of electrical and lighting) are completed to the highest quality and meets our customers, constructability, and the networks requirements/standards. All designs must comply with the relevant electrical distribution authority technical requirements as well as the applicable Australian Standards. Working closely with Lighting Design Project Engineers, a Lighting Design Engineer needs to ensure tasks are completed on time and within effort estimates and also ensure proactive management of stakeholders and risks.

Key Responsibilities
The Lighting Design Engineer who will join our Lighting Design team must:
Manage safety by maintaining a culture of health and safety in all business activities
Participate as an active member of the Powerplant Lighting team to establish and maintain a highly motivated,
enjoyable and passionate team environment
Undertake electrical, lighting and drafting work for standard Lighting projects, ensuring all work is completed in line with Powerplant's relevant policies and procedures
Ensure all works are completed with emphasis on quality, timeliness, accuracy and compliance with applicable standards related to VESI drafting and design activities
Ensure compliance with Powerplant's Quality Assurance policies and procedures with active participation in the QA review process as required
Participate in handover of approved designs from Project Engineers to Project Managers and provide ongoing support as required during the construction phase
Undertake professional development and attendance at industry forums as required
Proactively manage internal stakeholder expectations and provide ad-hoc support, coaching and mentoring to other team members
Demonstrated experience in the use of AutoCAD and Microstation
Demonstrated experience in the use of AGI32
Knowledge of AS**** series, TCG 006, AS**** and AS****
Minimum 2 years' experience in undertaking VESI electrical designs across AusNet, Powercor, United Energy and Jemena
Powercor "Designer" accreditation
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills
Other Role-Specific Requirements
Ability to obtain required security and police checks
The role is based in Powerplant's Hallam office with options for flexible working
