On behalf of a well-established and highly regarded creative agency, Zest People is recruiting an experienced Event Manager to join a close-knit Melbourne team. Our client delivers standout events, campaigns and brand experiences for a portfolio of leading national and international clients. They are entering an exciting new growth phase - refining and reimagining how it works, and expanding its creative and operational capability.
This is a delivery-focused role, not a conceptual or venue-based position. Our client needs someone who can take a brief and run with it, managing every moving part and delivering exceptional events from start to finish.
About the Role
You will lead the end-to-end delivery of events and activations, working across timelines, budgets, suppliers, logistics and in office execution. From intimate client experiences to large-scale activations, you will be trusted to keep every project running smoothly, professionally and profitably.
What You Will Be Doing
Manage end-to-end event delivery, from brief through to bump-out and post-event reporting;
Build and maintain detailed production timelines, run sheets and event documentation;
Lead supplier and contractor coordination across staging, AV, catering, styling, staffing and logistics;
Manage event budgets exceeding $100K, including forecasting, invoicing and reconciliation;
Oversee on-site operations and troubleshoot calmly under pressure;
Partner with internal PR and creative teams to ensure seamless campaign execution;
Drive operational efficiencies and maintain consistently high delivery standards;




Build and maintain strong relationships with Melbourne's leading event suppliers and venues;
About You
This role suits someone who genuinely thrives when executing events - the logistics, the last-minute problem-solving, the satisfaction of watching a plan come together exactly as it should. You take direction well, but you don't need to be managed closely to deliver.
5+ years' experience in event management, ideally within an agency setting
Proven experience delivering large-scale events and activations for a creative agency
Strong financial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing budgets exceeding $100K
Deep knowledge of Melbourne's event suppliers, venues and production partners
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Confidence juggling multiple projects at once
A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency across Microsoft Office and event management systems
Above all, you are hands-on, detail-oriented and proactive - someone who simply gets things done.
