About the role
Every family's journey begins with a conversation. As the Family Services Intake Coordinator, you will help ensure Aboriginal children and families are met with care, respect and timely support from their very first contact with VACCA. By building strong partnerships and guiding referrals with a culturally safe, family centered approach, you will help connect families to the services that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
About You
You are a relationship builder who understands the importance of timely, culturally safe support for Aboriginal children and families. You thrive on connecting people, building strong partnerships across community services, and ensuring families are welcomed, heard and linked to the support that best meets their needs. With strong judgement and organisation skills, you can balance referrals, coordinate priorities, and work collaboratively with leaders and practitioners to achieve positive outcomes. You are committed to continuous improvement, value the voice of families in decision making, and bring a strengths based, self determined approach to supporting families and community.
At least 2 years' experience working in a client-facing role in the family services sector.
Experience working directly or indirectly with intake functions and processes.
Experience working in Aboriginal organisations and with Aboriginal communities.Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology and/or Child and Family Welfare or an equivalent related to community services or willingness to obtain.
Requirements:
Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and aVictorian Driver Licence.
Current COVID-19 vaccination(Strongly Recommended)
