The Warehouse supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, dispatching, and controlling inventory to support manufacturing and customer requirements.
The role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, developing and implementing stock control systems, supporting ERP development processes, supervising warehouse operations, ensuring quality standards are met, and creating and assist with implementing Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Strong organisational, problem-solving, communication, and inventory management skills are essential, together with the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Monitor warehouse communications and respond to operational requirements.
Be the first point of contact for all sub-contractor, drivers, and dispatch
Receive, inspect, unload, and store goods within 48 hours of delivery.
Verify goods received against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
Ensure delivery documentation is processed by Accounts within required timeframes.
Pick, check, quality inspect, and stage orders for dispatch.
Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
Maintain a clean, organised, and secure warehouse, including surrounding factory, Custom and Shutter divisions.
Inventory & Stock Control
Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
Conduct and manage regular stocktakes and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
Monitor and replenish stock levels for raw materials, spare parts, shutters, and finished goods.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve stock control systems and warehouse procedures.
Organise storage locations, implement bin numbering and location mapping systems, and optimize warehouse layout.
Assist with ERP implementation, inventory reporting, and process improvements.
Production Support
Ensure materials are available to support manufacturing.
Coordinate timely processing of manufacturing work orders.
Monitor the quality of manufactured products, including assembly, components, packaging, and documentation.
Support production through accurate inventory management and material availability.
Workplace Health & Safety
Having knowledge on workplace health and safety legislation is an advantage
Assisting with develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety legislation
Assisting with conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
Maintain warehouse equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
Assisting with promote a strong safety culture and maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
