Newcastle & District Nursing Service (NDNS) is seeking compassionate and reliable Care Workers and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to join our Community Care Team supporting clients throughout Newcastle and surrounding areas.
About the Role
As an AIN or Community Care Worker, you will provide person-centred support to older Australians in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Personal care including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting assistance
Mobility assistance and transfers
Medication reminders and prompts in accordance with care plans and organisational policies
Continence support and catheter bag care in accordance with training and competency requirements
Domestic assistance and light household duties
Social support and community access
Accurate documentation and progress notes
Reporting changes in client wellbeing to the care team
Building positive and supportive relationships with clients and their families
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) or Assistant in Nursing qualification
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Current Australian Driver Licence
Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Smartphone and basic computer skills
Strong communication skills and a commitment to person-centred care
Minimum of 6 months experience in aged care, disability support or similar community care role
