Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer - Aged Care
An exciting opportunity has become available to join a
leading Aged Care organisation
as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer. This position will commence as an
initial temporary assignment with a genuine view to permanency
for the right candidate.
Working as part of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing function, you will provide practical support and advice across
employee wellbeing, injury management, WorkCover and workplace health and safety
, partnering with operational leaders and key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced wellbeing, injury management or WorkCover professional who enjoys working in a people-focused environment and wants to make a meaningful contribution within the Aged Care sector.
The Role
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting workplace injury management, wellbeing, HS&W; and WorkCover processes and systems
Managing early intervention cases and coordinating with operational teams and external service providers
Assisting with WorkCover claims, compensation payments and associated administration
Liaising with insurers, WorkSafe, treating health practitioners and other external stakeholders
Providing timely advice and support to managers and internal stakeholders regarding injury management, wellbeing and WorkCover matters
Supporting return-to-work strategies and reasonable workplace adjustments
Preparing accurate wellbeing, HS&W; and WorkCover reports and monitoring claims trends and performance
Participating in workplace incident investigations and claims reviewsSupporting initiatives designed to improve employee engagement, safety and wellbeing
Contributing to continuous improvement across workplace health, safety and wellbeing practices
The role has a solid stakeholder component,



working across operational and corporate teams as well as with insurers, regulators and health practitioners.
About You
The
ideal candidate will come from an Aged Care or Healthcare background
and have demonstrated experience within injury management, workplace wellbeing, WorkCover and/or health and safety.
You will ideally bring:
Previous experience within
Aged Care, Healthcare or a similarly complex people-focused setting
Demonstrated injury management and case management experience
Experience supporting WorkCover claims and return-to-work processes
Knowledge of workplace health, safety and wellbeing practices
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
Confidence liaising with managers, insurers, health practitioners and external providers
Strong analytical, reporting and administrative capabilities
A practical, solutions-focused approach with excellent communication skills
Empathy, emotional intelligence and the ability to manage sensitive matters professionally
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or relevant experience/qualifications
The underlying position description specifically calls for customer-focused injury management, HS&W; and WorkCover experience, case management capability, strong stakeholder engagement and analytical/reporting skills.
