Lead sustainable growth across a leading Testing, Inspection & Certification business
Are you a commercially minded leader who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and turning strategy into results? Do you enjoy working across sales, business development, and commercial management to drive sustainable growth and long-term customer value?
As a key member of our Leadership Team, this role offers the opportunity to influence business direction, develop strategic customer partnerships, and shape the future growth of a growing Australia & New Zealand organisation backed by a global network.
About the Company
Control Union has been helping to build a better world for several decades. From our roots in agriculture, the global business has since grown to become a trusted partner for Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC), providing a comprehensive range of quality services to clients in more than 80 countries. Our deep expertise spans the entire supply chain across a wide range of industries.
Control Union operates under the globally recognised Royal Peterson Control Union group. Still family-owned today, trust remains our core value. We take pride in our stakeholder focus, work with integrity, and are purpose-driven, offering long-term, sustainable, and innovative solutions across global value chains.
As part of the continued growth of our Australia & New Zealand organisation, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Growth Manager to help drive the next phase of our development. With a growing team of approximately 50 employees and a strong ANZ presence spanning more than 30 years, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business with both local impact and global reach.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager and forming part of the Leadership Team, the Commercial Growth Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, commercial performance, and strategic market development across our Testing, Inspection and Certification services. This role is focused on building the commercial engine that turns technical capability into revenue growth, stronger margins and better profit conversion.
Business Unit (BU) Heads remain accountable for technical capability, delivery feasibility and operational performance; this role is accountable for the commercial structure that converts those capabilities into qualified opportunities and profitable growth.
Working closely with the General Manager, BU Heads, Finance, HR, and customer-facing technical experts, you will play a key role in identifying growth opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, improving commercial performance, and ensuring the business is well-positioned for future success.
This is a broad and influential role that combines commercial leadership, sales management, and business development. You will lead customer engagement strategies,

oversee commercial planning and pricing initiatives, drive market growth, and provide valuable market intelligence that supports strategic decision-making across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable engaging with key customers, contributing to executive discussions, analysing commercial performance, and identifying opportunities that support sustainable and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement commercial growth strategies that support revenue growth, margin improvement, new portfolio development, and profit conversion.
Lead sales planning, business development activity, and revenue growth initiatives across existing customers, target accounts, and priority recent service portfolios.
Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, strategic accounts, and industry stakeholders.
Own the commercial pipeline, CRM discipline, forecasting rhythm, win/loss visibility and follow-up cadence across Testing, Inspection and Certification.
Lead pricing coordination, commercial proposals, contract reviews and agreement negotiations to improve revenue quality, margin discipline and commercial risk management.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and service expansion initiatives.
Identify and progress new portfolio and service expansion opportunities with clear revenue, margin, capability and customer-demand logic.
Collaborate with BU Heads, Client Liaison Officers (CLOs), customer service personnel and technical specialists to align customer needs with service capability, delivery feasibility, pricing and margin expectations.
Develop CLOs and customer-facing support staff to assist with account coordination, quote follow-up, CRM discipline, customer communication and sales administration.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform business strategy.
Develop and maintain CRM systems, sales reporting, and performance metrics to support effective decision-making.
Plan and represent the Company at industry events, conferences, customer meetings, presentations and networking activities that support BD, strategic account growth and market positioning.
Contribute as a member of the Leadership Team, supporting strategic planning, business improvement, and organisational growth
