Full-time apprenticeship
Jeztek Plumbing and Heat Pump Central are seeking a capable and motivated fourth-year plumbing apprentice who is nearing completion of their apprenticeship and is ready to take the next step toward becoming a qualified plumber.
This is a hands-on role working across residential plumbing, with a strong focus on heat pump hot water systems, hot water replacements, water services, maintenance and general plumbing work.
We are looking for someone who can work confidently, take responsibility for their work and operate with less supervision while remaining within the requirements of their apprenticeship.
About the Role
You will work alongside licensed plumbers and assist with:
Installation and replacement of heat pump and conventional hot water systems
General plumbing installations, maintenance and repairs
Measuring, cutting, bending and joining copper, PEX and PVC pipework
Installing valves, tempering valves, fittings and water services
Diagnosing basic plumbing faults under supervision
Testing pipework, checking for leaks and assisting with system commissioning
Reading plans, installation manuals and job specifications
Identifying materials, fittings and equipment required for each job
Preparing job sites and coordinating tools and materials
Completing installation photos, job notes and documentation using ServiceM8
Communicating professionally with customers and other trades
Maintaining company vehicles, tools and equipment




Supporting junior apprentices where directed
Attending trade school and completing all remaining apprenticeship requirements
As a fourth-year apprentice, you will be expected to complete many tasks with limited supervision while recognising when licensed oversight or approval is required.
About You
To be considered, you must:
Be a registered fourth-year plumbing apprentice
Be actively enrolled in Certificate III in Plumbing
Be on track to complete your apprenticeship
Hold a current White Card
Hold a current Victorian driver licence
Have solid practical plumbing experience
Be confident using plumbing hand tools and power tools
Be able to work independently on tasks within your level of competency
Be reliable, punctual and well organised
Take pride in the quality of your workmanship
Communicate professionally with customers and team members
Be physically capable of carrying equipment and working in wide-ranging site conditions
Be willing to travel throughout Melbourne, Geelong and surrounding areas
Be willing to work reasonable overtime when required
Have a strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
Heat pump hot water installations




Electric and gas hot water replacements
Copper pipework and press-fit systems
Fault finding and service work
Tempering valves, pressure-limiting valves and water services
Drainage and general plumbing installations
Reading plans and installation specifications
Mobile job-management systems such as ServiceM8

About Us
Jeztek Plumbing and Heat Pump Central have more than 17 years of industry experience and have completed over 6,500 installations.
We use our own experienced team rather than relying on subcontractors, giving us greater control over workmanship, safety, compliance and customer service.
Our work covers Melbourne, Geelong and surrounding areas, with a strong focus on hot water systems, heat pump technology and quality plumbing installations.
Applicants must be currently registered as a fourth-year plumbing apprentice and able to provide evidence of their apprenticeship progress.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
