As a
Lines Engineer-Distribution
, you willprovide specialised engineeringexpertisefor AusNet's distribution network equipment to ensure that we optimise the cost,riskand performance over the asset lifecycle.
Based in
Southbank
with a hybrid working arrangement, this is a technical and strategic role within the
Asset Management team
, directly influencing the resilience and reliability of the electricity network that powers Victorian communities.
Whatyou'llbe doing in this role:
Provide an overview of Network asset performance, leading to the provision ofappropriateandtimelyadvice for the overall effective management ofnetwork assets
Identifyand implement innovative asset management techniques
Establish contingency and risk management plans to ensureappropriatenetworkasset management decisions are made
Manage consultants,contractorsand other service providers as they relate to asset management activities
Provideexpertiseon strategies, asset performance, and technical specifications
Creation of equipment standards and maintenance policies
Develop concepts, prepare businesscasesand manage project documentation
Assistin implementing asset management and replacement initiatives
Review and evaluate the condition of installed cables and distribution line assets
Investigate equipment failures, draft reports, and make informed technical decisions
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a valuable combination of:
Degree qualified in Engineering
Knowledge of distribution system components,equipmentand technologies, with a focus onlinesequipment and emerging trends and innovations
High degree of focus on safety
Ability to perform optionsanalysis, recommendoptionand prioritise actions
Understanding ofassetmanagement leading practices,frameworksand relevant standards
Ability to lead and coordinate failure and incident investigations
Knowledge indeveloping and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferablywithin a regulatedasset intensiveenvironment
Knowledge of relevant condition monitoring and assessment techniques for power and instrument transformers
Displays autonomy, while aligning to the short- and long-term asset management goals
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams
