Medical Receptionist (Casual)
About the Role
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for:
Greeting patients and providing exceptional customer service
Managing appointments and doctor schedules
Answering and directing phone calls
Processing Medicare, EFTPOS and private billings
Registering new patients and maintaining accurate medical records
Scanning, filing and general administrative duties
Managing emails and electronic correspondence
Liaising with doctors, nurses and allied health professionals
Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities




High attention to detail
A friendly, qualified and compassionate manner
Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems
The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual and flexible availability
Desirable (but not essential)
Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration
Experience using Best Practice Premier or similar practice management software
Knowledge of Medicare billing and patient claiming processes
Experience using HotDoc or similar online booking systems
