Our client is a recognised leader in steel manufacturing, producing structural and reinforcing steel products for major infrastructure projects across Australia. Their contemporary operation includes a Bar Mill, Rod Mill, Billet Yard, Guide Shop, Warehouse, and dedicated Maintenance Department, with a strong reputation for safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
The Opportunity
We're looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join a highly skilled maintenance team responsible for keeping critical production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
This is a hands‐on role where you'll carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance, diagnose mechanical faults, and contribute to a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement.
Rotating Roster
4 Days On / 4 Days Off
2 x Day Shifts: 6:00am - 6:00pm
2 x Night Shifts: 6:00pm - 6:00am
What's on Offer
$***** per hour
16.5% superannuation

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance on heavy industrial equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic,



power transmission and drive systems
Install, align and overhaul mechanical components and equipment
Complete maintenance documentation and reporting accurately
Work closely with operations to maximise plant reliability
Maintain high safety, housekeeping and quality standards
About You
Trade-qualified Mechanical / Maintenance Fitter
Previous experience within heavy manufacturing, steel, mining, industrial processing or similar environments
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps and rotating equipment
Experience to machining, CNC equipment, and control systems such as Siemens, Fanuc and Mazak/Mazatrol is advantageous
A proactive approach to safety with excellent communication skills
Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team
Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen only (visa holders will not be considered)
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
