We are on the hunt for an experienced hands‐on Maintenance technician that can assist in the daily operations of one of Melbourne's best Student accommodation providers.

Key Responsibilities
Manage supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Reactive Maintenance - Be first to assess and triage maintenance requests.
Carry out first line maintenance and assist specialist contractors when required.
Tenant Engagement and communication, Process and management of student maintenance requests using online platform and job management app.
Schedule access time to make repairs.
Provide guidance to students how to reduce their maintenance requests by utilizing facilities and equipment properly.




Conduct room inspections as required during half yearly inspection and departure inspections, escalating any issues where necessary.
Painting including interior blocks, doors, gates and any other areas as necessary.
Patching where required such as Gyprock etc.
Changing / fixing tapware.
Garbage chute maintenance and bin change over.
Bin Cleaning and bin room maintenance.
Organised management of tools and equipment.
Public access area inspection and maintenance.
Laundry facility daily maintenance.
Effective use of Facilities Management Software.
Manage KPIs and expectations of contractors
Carry out health and safety checks, Monthly iAuditor and review of contractor health and safety procedures.
Manage legislative requirements for our business and ensure that we are compliant or that our contractors are compliant utilizing our global partner software in legislative compliance requirements.
Keep Area Manager and Residence Manager up to date on all requirements.
Contractor Management
Liaise and manage contractors to complete daily reactive maintenance tasks.
Complete contractor sign in and induction processes.
Liaise with contractors to seek quotes and create work orders for CAPEX related works.
Review and provided feedback on contractor quotes and invoices
Signoff on contractor works and invoices.
Review and provide feedback to management on contractor performance and suitability to work within the building.




Assist in annual contract review and renewal.
Review and ensure compliance of annual legislative and contracted maintenance items.
Liaise with management in the planning and procurement of replacement items required such as FFE, minor equipment, appliances etc..
About You
You are a person with a passion for service, a person that has the ability to effectively manage daily tasks and coordinate multiple resources to ensure desired outcomes on a daily basis, you have a natural affinity with people with an approachable demeanour that brings comfort to the students and staff you are working alongside. With an ability to effectively communicate you are both considered and you consult widely to ensure the best outcomes for all involved.
Experience and Knowledge
Great team working and customer service skills
Ability to be proactive with strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask on a regular basis
Resilience and adaptability, as well as a great cultural diversity awareness.
High competence in software primarily Word, Dropbox, Outlook and other apps.
Proven experience in successfully learning new software and systems primarily related to Facilities Management.
Previous work experience within the student accommodation or a similar sector.
Previous experience within a facilities or maintenance role.
Please note this role requires a current Police Check, Working with Children's Check and the successful completion on Gender Violence Training
