Project Manager - Infrastructure Projects - Government
APG Workforce is seeking a Project Manager to support delivery of the Moree Plains Road Project, based in Tamworth.
Location:Tamworth, NSW (office/site-based)
Rate:$***** per hour + super
Start Date:24 August ****
Hours:7 hours/day, 35 hours/week
Start Date:24/08/2026End Date:30/06/2027
This role suits a hands-on Project Manager or Contract Administrator with strong site presence, stakeholder management skills, and experience working across government infrastructure projects.
Role Overview
You will support the delivery of medium-complexity infrastructure projects, working closely with contractors and senior project managers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver assigned infrastructure projects in line with organisational procedures
Provide contract administration support to the Principal Authorised Person
Conduct procurement activities to support project delivery
Maintain accurate project records including progress, claims, variations and documentation
Undertake site surveillance, including safety,



environmental and quality inspections
Monitor contractor performance, progress and compliance with systems
Liaise daily with contractors and manage on-site issues professionally
Key Requirements
Relevant qualifications or experience in project management, construction, engineering or contract administration
Knowledge of NSW Government construction contracts
Robust understanding of WHS legislation and site safety requirements
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and contract documents
Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
Confident communicator, able to manage contractor discussions and escalation issues appropriately
Valid NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel (including occasional overnight stays)
Candidates based inNew England / North West NSW (Tamworth, Armidale or surrounds)or willing to travel regularly are highly encouraged to apply.
