About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Specialist to support a major risk maturity and control uplift program within a regulated financial services setting.
Working closely with business leaders, risk teams and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in strengthening risk frameworks, enhancing control effectiveness, supporting assurance activities, and improving risk management practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Review, document and uplift controls to ensure they are effective, fit for purpose and aligned to risk management frameworks.
Conduct control assessments and testing, including design and operating effectiveness reviews, and support assurance activities.
Develop and maintain risk profiles, facilitate risk assessments, and support risk reporting for senior management and governance committees.
Support risk-related initiatives including emerging risk management, project and change risk,



risk culture programs, and incident remediation activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders across business, risk, compliance and project teams to drive continuous improvement in risk management practices.
Key Requirements will include:
Proven experience in enterprise risk management, ideally within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
Strong capability in control identification, documentation, mapping, testing and uplift activities.
Experience preparing risk assessments, analysing risk data and communicating insights to diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of risk governance, assurance practices, risk culture initiatives and regulatory compliance obligations.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, organisational and documentation skills, with strong attention to detail.
Relevant qualifications in risk, finance, business, law or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
