Exciting opportunity for an outstanding senior nursing educator who is a leading authority within their discipline to join the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery (Sydney Nursing School)
Full time continuing position located at Camperdown Campu
Salary $195,478- $215,352 + 17% superannuation

We are seeking a passionate and accomplished, highly talented Education Focused academic to join our dynamic team as
Associate Professor in Nursing
.



The "Education Focused" category is designed for educators known for their exceptional skills in teaching and curriculum design. Associate Professors within this category are recognised both internationally and within the university for their expertise in educational delivery.
Post holders will have a strategic role in assessing teaching, learning and engagement strategies with the Sydney Nursing School academic team and our partners. This role will have a track record in advancing education research in their specialist area and will take a lead in advancing pedagogical design, delivery and research in the School and Faculty. Experience leading the Indigenisation and decolonisation of curriculum, embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, and/or advancing person-centred approaches to curriculum design will be especially valued. They will join a highly skilled, dynamic diverse team of academic and skilled colleagues who are committed to providing the highest quality education and student experience.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
lead the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative nursing curricula that align with the University's strategic priorities and enhance educational excellence
contribute to inclusive curriculum transformation that strengthens culturally safe, decolonising and person-centred approaches to nursing education, working collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colleagues, communities, students and other key partners
provide academic leadership in teaching and learning, driving continuous improvement in educational quality, student outcomes and curriculum design
shape and influence faculty and university-wide educational strategy, fostering a culture of academic excellence, innovation and collaboration
mentor and support academic staff and students, contributing to leadership development, scholarly engagement and an inclusive learning environment
champion evidence-based pedagogical innovation and best practice in higher education, influencing educational policy and advancing teaching excellence
maintain a sustained record of excellence in teaching, curriculum leadership and educational scholarship within the nursing discipline
undertake and lead high-quality research, including research focused on nursing education and teaching practice, resulting in impactful scholarly outputs
secure competitive funding to support educational innovation, research initiatives and strategic academic projects




represent the University nationally and internationally through professional engagement, academic leadership, scholarly collaborations and conference participation
drive initiatives that enhance student experience, graduate outcomes and the University's reputation as a leader in nursing education
contribute to senior academic leadership, strategic planning and decision-making to support the ongoing growth and success of the School and Faculty
build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare, industry, professional and academic stakeholders to advance nursing education and workforce development.
About you
The successful candidate must have:
PhD in Nursing or relevant health related or education related area
AHPRA registration as a registered nurse, or eligibility to be registered within Australia
Fellow or Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (or equivalent recognition)
significant experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector, including demonstrated excellence in supervising and/or mentoring others to success
a significant track record in education research, education scholarship and demonstrable evidence of impact on education theory and practice
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector
a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and qualified institutions, partners and stakeholders
The following experience will be highly regarded:
demonstrated experience embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges and perspectives through culturally safe and respectful partnership
demonstrated experience designing, implementing and evaluating person-centred curricula in nursing, health or higher education
