ACTION NEEDED: Help us tell the Crisafulli LNP Government to Keep the Laws that Keep Queensland Safe Union Careers Work in the Union Movement Industrial Policy & Research Officer - Gender Equity The Queensland Council of Unions is seeking an experienced Industrial Policy & Research Officer (Gender Equity) to join the Queensland Women Rise team.
This senior role will lead research, industrial policy development and strategic initiatives to improve outcomes for working women across Queensland.
Working closely with affiliated unions, the successful applicant will contribute to enterprise bargaining, workplace policy development, industrial education and advocacy.
We Are Looking For Someone With: Experience in industrial relations, enterprise bargaining or industrial advocacy; Excellent research, policy development and writing skills; Knowledge of workplace issues affecting women and contemporary industrial relations; and A commitment to gender equality and the values of the trade union movement.
Outreach Officer - Queensland Migrant WorkWise - Cairns Queensland Migrant WorkWise is a government funded initiative delivered through the Queensland Council of Unions providing education and information to temporary visa holders/migrant workers and their employers about their rights and obligations under the Migration Act.
The Role Of An Outreach Officer Is To: Develop networks and relationships with local stakeholders including union organisers, community organisations, local government, employer bodies such as local regional chambers of business, and employers who employ temporary visa holders to promote and deliver the program.
Identify workplace and community settings to deliver education resources and including workplace induction meetings, community meetings, and regional worker education events.
Deliver education and information sessions to temporary visa holders and their employers on their respective rights and obligations under the Migration Act, as well as key workplace rights under the Fair Work Act and work health and safety laws.
Review and provide feedback on the effectiveness and quality of information and education resources.
Workplace Rights Advisor - Queensland Migrant WorkWise The Queensland Council of Unions is seeking an experienced Workplace Rights Advisor to join the Queensland Migrant WorkWise team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help improve workplace outcomes for migrant workers by providing specialist workplace rights advice, supporting Outreach Officers, working with affiliated unions and stakeholders, and contributing to policy, education and advocacy initiatives.
We Are Looking For Someone With: Experience in workplace relations, industrial relations or employment law; Sound knowledge of Australian workplace laws, including the Fair Work Act, awards and work health and safety; Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; and A commitment to improving workplace outcomes for migrant workers and the values of the trade union movement.
Paralegal/Legal Assistant - MEU The MEUQ is seeking applications for an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant based in our Brisbane office to perform the below: Provide administration support to the 2 inhouse Senior Legal Officers; Maintaining of the industrial database and filing structure/opening and archiving of files (electronically).
Create templates for efficient use by the industrial department/ officials and staff.
Maintaining a bring up system and attending to tasks when they arise.
Organising authors – maintaining diaries.
Ability to liaise with members, Barristers, Courts and other law firms etc.
Proof reading and editing for officials and employees as requested.
Attend meetings.
Research – if applicant at level to perform such a task.
Drafting correspondence, basic statements, court documents for the inhouse Senior Legal Officers, drafting initial show cause responses on behalf of members SEQ Organiser - AMWU We are looking for a dynamic Organiser to work independently and in a team environment,
