Task & responsibilities
Reading of drawings, clients, or business's work orders to determine specifications. Follow all work instructions and perform quality checks to ensure products are manufactured to specifications.
Work order sheets, daily production reports, time sheets, and QA paperwork must be accurately completed and handed in on time. Read and understand delivery schedules and due dates for orders. Manufacture products within the allowed standard time hours.
Plan in advance the work stages needed to meet the due dates. Plan / understand / check stock of the materials you will need for each job. The store person is there to assist as needed.
Together, make sure the necessary materials are available to start each job on time. Talk to production manager if extra tooling or machines are required as per the work requirements. Responsible for working out of extra help/operator(s) required to get each job done by the due date and discuss this with the production manager.
Using the wood cutting machines for cutting,



moulding, shaping, and sanding of wood articles. Setting up of machines and wood stock for accurate cutting, shaping, and sanding of wood pieces. For restoring the old wood pieces, remove the finishing with sandpaper, steel wool or glass paper.
Also, by using the paint stripper. Using varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains, and wood paint to polish and waxing finished products.
Qualification & experience
AQF certificate III with on-job two years' experience or certificate IV in related field or three years of relevant experience.
At least 2 years of experience in the similar position. You must have full-time work rights in Australia. Follow all OHS procedures and policies.
