As a Deep Tech Innovation House, Scimita delivers investable techno-commercial roadmaps designed to accelerate emerging technologies from approximately TRL 3 through to TRL 7. Our Proof of Science, Proof of Technology and Proof of Engineering programs are structured to progressively reduce technical and commercial uncertainty and build the evidence required for investment and adoption.
Based in Condell Park, Sydney, our purpose-built pilot facilities and supporting laboratory capabilities enable us to design and deliver complex technology-development programs across the commercialisation pathway.

Resposibilities
You will:
Develop and implement Scimita's Innovation Pod capability strategy;
Convert approved WBS programs into sprint plans, delivery forecasts, and resource plans;




Oversee multiple laboratory, pilot, and technology development programs;
Review experimental hypotheses, test matrices, sampling plans, analytical methods, and evidence criteria;
Ensure technical programs are safely designed and executed;
Challenge data quality, assumptions, interpretation, and scale-up conclusions;
Ensure programs produce decision quality milestone updates and final reports;
Capture reusable knowledge, methods, and insights from completed programs;
Coach and develop our Innovation Pod Leads;
Build team capacity and identify future capability requirements;
Maintain first line accountability for WHS, operational risk, and technical assurance; and
Contribute directly to the evolution of Scimita's operating model and product offering.
What you will bring
A Master's degree or Doctorate in Chemical, Process, Metallurgical, Minerals Processing, or a closely related engineering discipline;
Substantial industry experience, normally including several years in laboratory, pilot, demonstration, process development, or scale up programs;
Evidence that you have personally designed or led programs where the technical pathway was uncertain;
Experience managing technical teams, program leads, or multidisciplinary contributors;
The ability to convert a complex question into a structured work program and experimental strategy;
Strong capability in technical data interpretation,



experimental design, process analysis, and scale up reasoning;
Experience managing scope, schedule, cost, resources, and program risks;
High quality technical writing and the ability to distil complex findings into clear recommendations;
Practical experience leading safe laboratory or pilot operations; and
The confidence to challenge weak assumptions, incomplete evidence, or unsafe work.
Experience solely in routine plant support or established process troubleshooting is unlikely to provide the breadth required for the role. We are particularly interested in candidates who have built or improved experimental programs, pilot capabilities, or technology development systems.
