About the Role
The Senior Booking & Events Officer plays a key role in coordinating hires across 27 Council venues, driving utilisation and ensuring seamless customer experiences that align with Council priorities.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Peninsula Venue Management, the core responsibilities include:
Efficient & effective booking & event management
Undertake application assessments, provide event guidance, ensure booking compliance, coordinate venue viewings, manage debt, reporting, and event scheduling — all in line with Council policies and procedures.
Proactive, expert support to hirers
Resulting in hirer satisfaction and retention, improved efficiency with fewer event issues, and the consistent delivery of accurate, timely, and tailored support.
Maintaining accurate and auditable booking data
Ensuring venue and event information within the booking system, website and relevant documents is accurate, up to date, accessible and auditable (internally and externally) to help gain efficiencies and increase and accessibility.
Continuous improvement
Promote and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes, systems, and standards to drive innovation, efficiency, and effective venue utilisation and booking management across Council.
About You
Completion of a degree or diploma in event management and/or lesser formal qualifications with experience in the booking management, activation and administration of multi-use facilities.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise competing demands, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while aligning with unit objectives and operational requirements.
High level of interpersonal and written communication skills to deal with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
