About the team:
Situated in the Planning, Regulation and Services Gold Coast department, the City Inspectorate Branch is responsible for enforcement of the City's standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City's residents and visitors.
The community compliance business unit is responsible for patrolling and enforcing parking laws in Paid Parking and Timed Parking areas, off-street regulated parking areas, designated disabled parking bays, and respond to and investigate complaints and breaches of parking regulations.
Review and manage unpaid parking fines and related disputes.
About the role:
We are seeking motivated, organised, and customer-focused individuals to join our City Parking team within the City Inspectorate Branch.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient management of parking across the city.
We have multiple vacancies available on either a casual basis or as full-time fixed-term positions until end of September **** with the possibility of extension.
Our City Parking team operates seven days a week, with shifts varying in length and scheduled across different times to meet operational requirements.
As part of a flexible and dynamic team, you will play an important role in supporting the community through education, customer service, and the fair and consistent enforcement of parking regulations.
Responsibilities and duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
Providing timely and accurate responses to regulated parking issues.
Interpretation and application of applicable State legislation and Local Laws.
Proficient use of mobile applications and software programs.
Issuance of Penalty Infringement Notices.
We're looking for people who have:
Are customer focus and able to balance enforcement responsibilities with educating and assisting the community.
The flexibility and willingness to work shift work.
Have demonstrated conflict resolution skills using tact, empathy, and de-escalation techniques to manage difficult interactions.
Have sound judgement and able to make fair and informed decisions
Are positive, friendly and work well within a team environment.
Have excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills with an ability to utilise active listening techniques.
Can efficiently manage time and prioritise your workload within reasonable time frames.
Physical capability to patrol outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
Have experience in compliance, customer service, law enforcement, security, or a similar field is desirable.
Are able to use handheld devices, infringement systems, and other technology to record inspections and issue notices.
Are able to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly.
A current driver's licence
