About the role
Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Registered Nurse to work within our 30-bed Medical ward.
This position will be employed on a casual basis.
Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.
Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport.
This facility was established in **** and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour plus casual loadingplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
Delivering and evaluating evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice
Advocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision-making
Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety,



security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical setting
High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
Available to work across all shiftsDemonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data
