About this opportunity
Reporting directly to the Research Manager, Representation Reviews, a team of research and report writing specialists is being established to provide the research function within the ward boundary review program team.
This fixed-term program team will complete ward boundary reviews before the **** council elections.
Ward boundary reviews are carried out under the Local Government Act **** and aim to maintain fair and equitable representation for voters, consistent with legislative principles and good practice for representative democracies.
About the team
The Electoral Representation Team leads the VEC's support and delivery of state and local government representation reviews, including support for internal and external review panels.
During representation review events,



an expanded team is established to deliver review programs.
The Research Team will work closely with the program's Geospatial and Public Consultation teams to deliver the upcoming ward boundary review program and provide high-quality advice and support to the ward boundary review panel.
A day in the life of a Senior Research Advisor
As a senior member of the ward boundary review Research Team, you will provide expert advice and guidance to key stakeholders in relation to research, interpretation of data and information, and concepts related to electoral representation reviews.
You will provide guidance and support for your Research Advisor colleagues as they carry out research and analysis for their assigned councils and prepare and deliver reports, briefings and presentations.
You will also work with the Research Manager to develop and maintain research and analysis methodologies, and lead quality assurance processes that ensure Research Team outputs meet professional standards and program requirements.
About you
Experienced in research and analysis, including the ability to establish and maintain high-quality research and advisory standards to support well-informed decision making.
Experience preparing and communicating advice and complex information verbally and through clear, concise written documents, structured reports and presentations.




Ability in driving quality and continuous improvement, including implementing quality assurance, and providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
Working collaboratively with others and communicating clearly and professionally with stakeholders.
Responding quickly to changing priorities, identifying and escalating routine issues or risks, and managing competing demands during peak periods.
Working respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and productive workplace.
